What is a campsite alert?

An alert watches a sold-out camp for you. We check every 30 minutes, around the clock, and as soon as we spot a cancellation on your dates we notify you with a direct link to the booking page.

Which parks do you cover?

SANParks (Kruger, Addo, Kgalagadi, Table Mountain and more), Cape Nature (Goukamma, Kogelberg, Rocherpan and more), and KZN Wildlife (Hluhluwe-iMfolozi, Sodwana Bay, Drakensberg camps and more).

What is the Trip Planner?

A Pro feature for planning a whole trip. Pick the camps you'd be happy with, then your dates. If you know them, you get a night-by-night grid and we watch every night. If you're flexible — say any 2 nights at Satara or Olifants in December — we find every stay that fits and alert you the moment a new one opens (SANParks camps for now). Once you've booked, mark it on the trip and we can watch for a better unit. Anyone can try a flexible search; saving trips and their alerts is part of Pro (3 active trips) and Premium (up to 20).

What is upgrade watch?

Booked a campsite but really wanted the bungalow? On Pro and Premium, mark your nights as booked on your trip and tap Watch for better. We keep watching those nights and alert you if the unit you'd rather have opens up, so you can swap.

Can my partner or family get the alerts too?

Yes, on Pro and Premium. Add them on your profile and we send them an invitation. Once they accept, they get your alerts by email, and by WhatsApp if they add their number, so whoever is free when a spot opens can book it. Pro shares with 1 person and Premium with 3. They can stop any time.

Can you tell me when SANParks opens new booking dates?

Yes. SANParks opens new dates a few times a year, and that is when the popular camps are wide open. Switch on new-dates alerts on your dashboard and every plan gets a heads-up the day before. Pro and Premium also get an email the minute the new dates show as bookable.

Does Campcheck book for me?

No. We notify you the moment a spot opens. You click the link and book it yourself on the park's website. Be quick — spots go fast.

I got an alert but the spot was gone. Why?

Someone else booked it first. At the busiest camps a reopened spot is often gone the same day, and camp sites go faster than chalets. Premium users are notified as soon as we spot an opening, Pro five minutes later, and Free users get a digest twice a day (07:00 and 18:00) — so on Free you can be up to 12 hours behind, which at a busy camp is often too late. Pro or Premium is the way to actually catch these.

What is the difference between Pro and Premium?

Both include WhatsApp alerts, the Trip Planner and sharing alerts with family. Premium gives you more room: up to 20 active trips instead of 3, and alerts shared with 3 family members instead of 1. You're also first in line — Premium is notified as soon as we spot an opening, Pro five minutes later.

Can I filter by accommodation type?

Yes. When creating an alert you can filter by campsite, chalet, cottage, lodge, or any type. You can even watch multiple types at once.

How long do alerts run?

Until your arrival date. Alerts expire automatically after that.

How do I cancel my subscription?

From your dashboard, hit Cancel subscription. Your access stays active until your current year expires — no charge after that.
